Time for a snow run!!NorCal

Postby HummBebe » Wed Dec 23, 2009 11:28 am

We are headed up to Uncle Toms with the WeBilt Crew on Saturday the Jan. 2nd. We are going to attempt Hartless Pass and try to make it into Wentworth Springs.

No doubt it will be nuts, and a really good time.

Snow conditions are prime right now, who's coming???
WARNING: It's not a "MOD" till the sawzall comes out, and then it's all downhill from there

^^^^^^*checking calendar and elbowing wife with unknown success*

Whats the start point??? If I gotta get the Strawberry cabin warm enough to stay in during the winter, it needs to be close and well utilized by guests. If its a day run....got an extra room?

I've figured out I'm not a huge fan of snow wheeling  but it's been too long since I've been out. I may come.

Whats the plan as far as meeting place/time etc.

You taking your H3?

Are the trails wide enough for my fat *ss with snow involved?

Chains required?

any major dropoffs?

Just read this and am interested in going. Where and what time is the meet up point? I will have to take the H3 since the white H1 is in need of a new battery splash shield and the black H1 is currently up for sale. 8)

**** Edit... just noticed on the reply to Rich.... 9am Raleys. Hopefully I will be able to make it!! *****

I drove separately from F-no to Salinas for NYE, then went to Bebe N' Ricks super sweet new digs in Auburn on NYD. When I got there, I thought the steep incline covered in gravel that makes up their drive was causing me to break loose, so I just idled up the hill. B&R are excellent hosts and I had a great time last night and early this morning. This morning on the way to the meet, the truck has only two speeds: 0-5% throttle..... forever, followed up by a unpredictable 110% throttle drag race where keeping the rears on the ground is nearly impossible, even on dry pavement. I meet Johnny S. and before we can even get acquainted, decide to run for parts. Both Autozone and Napa are staffed by clueless, part-time car-tards who have no idea what a MAP sensor is, where it goes, what it does, or even if the one they have goes on a gas or diesel engine. The stealership tries to get me to pay for a newly superseded $200 part before they tell me ITS OUT OF STOCK AND THEY WERE ONLY GONNA ORDER IT!!!!1!!!!1 I tell the group to head on and I will catch them next time. I play with tune settings for a half and finally make the truck sorta drivable so I can limp home. Long story short, a 3.25 hr drive ends up taking over 7 hours. FML.

On the up side, I got 17+mpg the whole way home.

I have the parts here, but they were 240mi. away and I wanted to play. I carry drive train parts, but the engine stuff, I thought I was done with this piddly crap. I'll be runnin 100% at stock hp within an hour of church being done and will have the retune by TST ready by the end of next week ...if it even needs to be done.
