Been teaching myself AutoCAD and also picked up a little turret mill recently and needed a project to combine the 2. Decided to make a billet aluminium battery box for sh!ts and giggles.

The bottom was pretty straight foward

I decided to make the top a bit more interesting

This is straight off the machine. I am going to hilight the H3 by painting the milled section in rancho red.

Thanks mate. this is the first thing I have ever machined on a mill apart from some stooge around stuff so I am really pleased with the results.

When the H3 contrasts is should really finish it off.

It looks good. I was wondering what you were going to do with the H3 logo.

Will fill in the machines out, outline, in Rancho Red to match the suspension which will really make the H3 stand out, Seth. 8)

That's some impressive work Nugget! Now all you need is a dual battery version for those AC Delcos :) Much more reliable than the Optimas.

Hi ReconH3.....I run a Rivers for my secons battery which runs all the accessories like my Engel Fridge/Freezer, 240V Inverter etc. They recharge much quicker and handle big discharge much better. The dual battery controller is hiding in the engine bay there somewhere as well!! 8)
