It's that time again ...

Frostbite 2012

This is typically the largest wheeling event in the Kansas/Missouri area with hundreds of rigs of all types. Come and show your support and Hummer pride. The wife and I will be bringing our H2 & H3. Anyone else?

It's looking like I will be in Dallas that weekend but I am definitely going to have to have you show me around KS Rocks in a few months. Have a great time, hopefully some fresh faces from the area will pop up.

what are the conditions usually like? I have been to Fort Scott, is this similar? I will be in Colorado that week so it might be a stretch... but I am interested.

Fort Scott is the closest town of any real size to KS Rocks. The trails are typically pretty muddy this time of year, but it has been unseasonably dry so far. Most of the trails involve steep, narrow climbs up loose rock. It can be an IFS killer if you're not careful. Since the park is really crowded for Frostbite, I typically stick to the main trails and the occasional easy or moderate rated trails. The park has the reputation of being a Jeep park because the trails are so tight it's hard to get full size rigs in there. However, there's plenty of trails that will accommodate a H3 if you are careful. I'm bringing my Deuce, but that's mainly for a Hummer show of force. We would love to have you join us! :yup:

If I can get back from Colorado at a decent time Friday night, I will make the drive over.

Cool! It should be a good time. The weather has been pretty decent. If it looks like you are going to make it, PM me so we can exchange cell #'s.

Figure KS Rocks has to be pretty good if the 2011 Ultimate Adventure made a stop there.

I'm sure we will be planning other trips there. I'll post up a few pics when I get a chance.

Thanks! I was outside with the kids when my neighbor drove up in his muddy YJ. I knew right away I had forgot it!

We had a great time at KS Rocks Recreation Park for the annual Frostbite event. The weather was perfect, the trails were great (not too muddy this time), and we won some great prizes at the raffle. We didn't get a lot of wheeling in with all the events, but we plan on making it down there again for a late spring/early summer run if anyone wants to join us.
