My Bronco is back on the streets

Postby no1gtkid » Wed Apr 25, 2007 2:47 pm

Well I finally got my Bronco to where I need. But by no means where I want. Money dicatest the want factor.

In any case, I got her registered about 3 weeks ago. Put on the Rims (Vetor Teflon from American Racing) that have been sitting in my garage for over 1 year and wrappeld tires (295/75/16) Nitto Grappler AT II. Installed some steps for my short legged self as well as becuase I was told to by my GF. The entire front steering was replaced alnog with new steering Gear box. Recharged the AC and added new bushings. Mounted My CB. I just now have to wire the lights up to the battery and switch.

my tint is getting done this weekend as long as it stays hot. Need to bake the windows to pull the old tint off.

Here is some new pictures of the Bronco.

I also am adding a pic of my new Wolverine 4x2 350 yamaha 2007. Shown next to it my old Artic Cat 4x2 2006 250.

The body looks in excellent condition. Don't let Rod encourage you to smash it up ;)

The truck looks great! I used to drive one of those at work. Not fast enough to catch anybody on the streets, but we could really have fun off road.

Rod could not encourage. That is Why I have my Jeep. :)

Which seems to do some what ok where Rod has encouraged me go so far.

i could use a locker or two in the small Dana 30 and 35 though before I do any real challenge.

Bronco not fast

Postby no1gtkid » Fri Apr 27, 2007 11:27 pm

Yeah Dave, I am not looking to chace crimnals down in the bronco on the highway. I leave that up to my friends with bafges. It is fun off-road.
However, On road chase I would go with my Old Prelude or Mustangs. Now they were fast. But not good off road.

I do have a great chase off road vehicle though. my trusty Yamaha 350 wolverine Or my team Yellow Porter with the LS1 stage 2. Now that is fast. ;)

Just made a few improvements today on the Bronco. I changed out my headlights and tailights. I also made a way to attach my hi-lift jack to the spare tire carrier.

First the tire carrier. I used ax mounts I had sitting around in the garage. They fit perfect around the bars on the tire carrier. I then Used two Long bolts and two short bolts. For locking it down, I used a Browning Bukmark 22 gun lock (the cable locks that come with pistols these days. What else am I going to use the lock for?) It works great for securing the hi-lift. Mental note buy more guns for their locks.

For the Headlight conversion. That is a pain, but I found a shorter and simple method to changing out. First I needed to remove the top two screws. Next get a long flat head screw driver and pop our the retaining pins. Then remove the battery and the coolant tank to make room to the two hidden nuts on each side of the headlight. Then pull the assembly out.

I will be posting pictures in the morning as I just finsihed installing them.

As a side note, I also upgraded the jeep in a few places. ;) Like a littel more clearnace, jack mount, windshield light mounts. I just need to re-wire all the lights back up. So for now I do not have any offroad lights.
