gas smell drivers side rear ?

getting a gas smell ds wheel well , not coming from gas cap.
any ideas?
looked underneath no drips

no smell next day after sitting.
light smell after a drive not overwhelming.160k runs like a top and no CE light

Did you just fill up, or had you filled up recently and the ambient temps went up. Could be the vent line has a hole or disconnected from the filler pipe (it's a closed system).

Wazup f5 .
No has 1/2 tank didn't fill up within the week, inspected behind filler ,lines good to gas tank/cover.
might have to take off cover and drop tank ?

I would wait to drop a tank; it's a pain. Just keep a nostril open for the smell and it if stays and/or intensifies then might be worth a look.

Gas evaporates so damn fast it might be hard to see a leak. You can purchase a UV dye that is safe for fuel, and then an inexpensive black light flashlight that helps to find the drops after the fuel evaps.

Or, get a few large Malamutes, place them into the back seat, feed them hard boiled eggs and I guarantee you will never smell fuel again even if you pour it into the rear footwell.Image

Im living upstate ny now, going downstate Long island within the month then I can go to my brothers shop and put it on the lift.
Im getting no smell inside.
Has to be coming from around tank as the smell is in the ds rear wheel well.
thinking seal for fuel pump ? think its at the top of the tank.
F5 pups looking good
just got another American eskimo pup, nitro, my other one had to be put down at 11 years young within 7 weeks went from 1 zit type lump to 50 massave tumors skin lymphoma he will be missed

well the top of the fuel pump was rotted out.pita to remove lines.
Ac delco replacement and it seems my gas gauge is off ?
did it on empty and showed 1/4 tank after install. :duh:
filled it and drove 230 miles and still over 1/2 tank
WTF :wall:
