Postby 6pack » Mon Feb 26, 2018 1:39 pm

Hey there,
I just snapped one of my SAW t-bars. Any thoughts on what the best replacement options is? Stock is not for me. :)
Thanks,
Paul

How did you manage to snap one? Did you find anything? Mine on the Alpha just were not cutting it anymore so I replaced them last year with another factory part number that was a bit beefier than my originals

In about the least sexiest way you could: a speed bump. It was a big one though! When I can down the back side, there was a big snap and the passenger side fell to just a hair above the tire. Looking at the snap looks like it had been damaged for a while and corroding in one location. I had heard two strange clunk noises the week or two before it happened, but hadn't got around to checking it out. I'm not sure I would have even noticed an issue with the bars though.

What I found were four sizes of Alpha bars, with 30.5mm being the largest. And an ARB/Old Man Emu bar that was 30.3mm.

For reference, the Alpha bar numbers:
L93357121/R93357122 - 30.5mm
L93357119/R93357120 - 30.1mm
L15906133/R15906134 - 29.36mm
L15082981/R15082982 - 28.3mm

I went with the ARB bars based on some forum recommendations. We'll see.

Here's the snapped bar:

The ARB bars ride the same as the SAW bars, as far as I can tell, and I got the same height back. So all good. 8)

Ouch, glad it didn't cause any further damage. I replaced mine last year with the thickest Alpha bars.
