PCV Valve Location

Postby KHummer » Mon May 29, 2017 7:24 pm

Hello everyone,

I did a search and couldn't seem to find anything on this.

I am slowly burning some oil. No crazy smoke coming out of the exhaust on startup or anything like that. Just seems I have to keep filling the truck with oil every couple thousand kms. Way too often. I haven't had to do an oil change in a long time cause my oil is always new.

I have come to understand that many vehicles have this issue when the PCV valve stops functioning properly and ends up sucking oil into the intake which them gets burnt.

I know where the PCV hose is that comes into the intake, but can't seem to locate the valve itself that can be changed. I wouldn't be surprised to find that Hummer's have some sort of special part that is meant to never be changed haha. If anyone knows of the location of the valve so i can change it that would be excellent :)

I know with many Vehicles it's often hidden and under the engine,

Most modern GM vehicles have done away with a PCV valve; including the H3. The design of the system does not require one.
