I am excited about this trip. Count me in. As an alternative to staying at Avi, there is a nice camp area on the river about 30 minutes away right next to Laughlin. http://www.mcparks.com/davis_camp.htm. ($15/night). I am not sure where I am going to stay yet. I have been hoping this trip would come around soon.

You can right at the trail head for free if you want. No need to sleep 30 minutes away.

I'm looking . . . considering . . . would like to do it

I'm in Moab March 13-16. Then I'm driving to Boise from Moab for work, will be back in Phoenix on the 20th. About 2500 miles of driving
I'm in Moab April 12-18, or some part thereof. About 1000 miles of driving

Beginning of the trail is 4.5 hours from home, gotta work Friday. End of the trail is about 6 hours from home, gotta work Monday. 850 miles of driving

Do I need gas cans for this trail? 132 miles I think, right?

You know your coming. :yup:

I brought one of my gas cans with me last year and I never used it. I think a FJ was the only one who ended up needing more gas at the end of the trail. We end up near Barstow where we can fill up.

I would bring a gas can just to be safe.

There is a midpoint on the trip where you end up only 15 miles from Baker.

Where you can go in for gasoline, some of the best Greek food at the Mad Greek deli, or a Strawberry milkshake at the Bun Boy restuarant

Oh yeah thats Davis Camp in Bullhead city! An old friend (Ron Weaver) is the chief park ranger there. Its a nice camp area. Ive been there a few times, sits under the dam. If your camping, the Av has free "dry parking or dry camping" for rvs and whatever. You can always just pull in there as well. If i still lived in my old place, i had alot of grass you could camp out on  Did you look at the other casinos across the river there? Riverside Resort, Tropican Express, Harrahs, Golden Nugget, Aqarious.... The aqarious has an Outback Steak House, Golden Nugget has a Joes Crabshack and a really good steak place called Saltgrass. The others have stuff like Pizza Huts, Micky D's, Panda Express.... and for those who like
IN 'n Out burger, there is one right next to the Tropicana.
'66 Mustang Fastback - lots of period correct mods
'07 H3 - Way to much to list.

I have no problem throwing your can on my rack if need be. It will just make my rack look even more attractive. :D

More than two cans on a rack can make the rack look odd. I wouldn't recommend it.
