Anza-Borrego Run

We will be hitting the trails in Anza-Borrego to kick off the new year! The official run will be Coyote Canyon. This is a fun trail and offers a lot of different types of wheeling. There are desert flats and long water crossings as well as some fun rock crawling. Due to the recent alterations to the rock canyon, there will not be a problem for stock rigs. This run will offer excitement and adventure.

Club membership is not required, there are no event entrance fees, and all capable vehicles are welcome. Kids are welcome. You are responsible for your own food, lodging, gas, etc.

When: February 21, 2008

Where: Anza-Borrego in and around Borrego Springs, CA

Time: 10am we will be hitting the trails. We will be meeting around 9:30 to air down and get started by 10. Expect a full day of trails so bring a lunch to eat while we wheel. There is a gas station in Borrego Springs, so if you plan to fill up before the run, make sure and add time to get to the trail in a timely fashion.

Meeting Spot: We will be meeting at the start of the Coyote Canyon trail in the town of Borrego Springs. The GPS coordinates for the meeting spot are N 33° 19' 30.71" W 116° 22' 03.72".

Directions: Borrego Springs is located in the north part of Anza-Borrego.

From LA/OC:
Get over to the I-15 and go south. Take the Hwy 79 exit in Temecula. Go east on Hwy 79 and turn left on San Felipe Rd (Hwy S2) after about 40 miles. You will then turn left on Montezuma Valley Rd and go about 17 miles. Then trun right on Palm Canyon Dr go 2 miles then turn left onto Di Giorgio Dr. You will go about 6 miles and the road will end at the meeting spot.

From San Diego:
It depends on where you are starting from. If North of Hwy 52, get to Romona and take the 78 east for 15 miles then turn left on Hwy 79. Go north on Hwy 79 and turn right on San Felipe Rd (Hwy S2) after about 11 miles. You will then turn left on Montezuma Valley Rd and go about 17 miles. Then turn right on Palm Canyon Dr go 2 miles then turn left onto Di Giorgio Dr. You will go about 6 miles and the road will end at the meeting spot.
