Padre Island National Seashore - May 19-21

Postby PhilD » Thu Mar 02, 2006 12:02 pm

We'll be doing another beach run this year down on Padre Island National Seashore on May 19-21.

This is a great opportunity to hang out on the beach, sit around the camp fire, and generally take it easy for a couple of days.

Everyone is welcome, either for the full duration or just to drop on by for a few hours.

There is small entrance fee to enter PINS, ($20 - annual, $10 - 7 days), camping is free, but you need to pick up a permit from the Malaquite Visitors Center. The only thing we ask you to bring is some firewood, you can pick up a couple of bundles of wood at all the local gas stations.

Full info and any updates can be found at;

Please let Joyce at mailto:Joyce@HummerXClub.com know if you will be attending.

Thanks,

Camping time is getting close!

This will be small informal event, no wheelin', just hanging on the beach and chilling with the family. Beer around the camp fire is about as exciting as it gets, but if you want to spend some quality time with your family, or just hang out on the beach, then it can be a lot of fun.

You don't have camp or stay overnight, feel free to drop by during the day.

The camping gear is all prepped and ready in the garage. So who will be joining us at the beach?

As we've had so little rain this winter (no measurable rainfall in five months), there is a shortage of food right and they are hungry. I saw one this morning following a guy walking his dog, not sure if he wanted to mate, fight or eat the dog, but it was not scared and would not back away, until I drove it at anyway...

In typical fashion, we may get some rain next weekend. After five months without any, we have a week of t-storms coming up. Right now Saturday is forecast for 89/78F and sunny, Sunday 89/77F with t-storms.
